How to Reconcile Creation with the Facts
From IU Professor Jose Bonner
- God started things a very long time ago, and then let things take their course, but perhaps lending a guiding hand from time to time in the personal lives of humans. (Theistic Evolution - Believed by some scientists and most Christians)
- God created things recently, and changed the laws of physics from time to time to get the world to its present state. (God created the laws of nature then proceeded to break them.)
- God created things more recently with all of the radioactive isotopes, fossils, DNA sequences, star light, etc. already in place.
This last notion makes sense if we think that God's purpose was to trick the scientists into thinking that the universe is old, and evolution occurs. After all, God created us in His image, and since we have a sense of humor, it stands to reason that God does, too.
"I do not believe that the same God who endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect intended us to forgo their use." -Galileo
